X-Bites Gummies Launch Concepts

As part of the in-house creative studio for Curaleaf and Select, I was brought on to help with ideation and concepting for the launch of an exciting new infused gummy line. X-bites Gummies were engineered to provide long-lasting, intense effects for the experienced cannabis user. This ended up being one of Select’s largest launches to date across several states.

The team and I came up with three creative solutions. My focus was on a concept called “Step into the Unknown”.

“Step into the Unknown” was inspired by classic Sci-fi films like 2001: A Space Odyssey. The astronaut explorer steps into the doorway of unknown adventure. The feeling is similar to the consumer as they taste a brand new intense cannabis gummy.

 
 
 
 

Further exploration

Here are a few examples of an additional exploration. It revolves around a giant, spaceship sized flying “X” that ultimately lands and becomes a monolith with a mysterious doorway to the unknown.

The exploration and the discovery

Even though we landed on a different visual approach the outer space theme and sense of adventure remains. A beautiful galaxy rendering and a tiny astronaut are used to convey the mystery and excitement of this new gummy.

Once the final campaign guidelines were secured, myself and other designers executed them throughout various marketing assets used in several states.

To help build excitement for the X-bites launch I used Adobe After Effects to make a short animation that utilized the hero images from the campaign.
